The most expensive still life painting ever sold?

The strawberry basket was sold by-24,381,400 on March 23, 2022, in Paris, by Jean-Simon Chardin (1699-1779). (This is $ 26.9m or £ 20.5m).

The estimated sale price was እስከ 12 to ሚሊዮን 15 million, so the owners and bidders should be very happy with the final result!

The French museum is now looking for money to buy a stable life that Artrical sold to an American distributor for 3 24.3 million last week.
This article is about a painting by 18th-century Proto-Impressionist artist Chardin.

Do you always sell the most precious life?

I had a question, "Is this one of the most expensive lives so far?"

It is certainly not the most expensive stable life. I can think of a few that can meet that requirement but are in the art galleries and museums for a long time and have not been sold recently.

I started looking for "expensive pictures sold by auction" and realized that none of them had a stable life.

On March 30, 1987, Van Gog Vaz, the most expensive still-selling floral painting with fifteen sunflowers - 3 30.39.7 million (£ 24.75 million) on March 30, 1987, or 90.4 million I, according to UIB 2020.

.... and all that.

So maybe strawberry baskets are the second most expensive still selling life?

Still a way of life

For more on a stable lifestyle, see my 2007 article What is a stable life? This is a very long article on genre.

I finally decided that I would barely scratch the surface, though!

Jean Simone Chardin (1699-1779)

For those who love Chardi's painting (I spent a lot of time photographing all of Chardin's paintings in Louvre in 2009!) , It may be a digital copy from the Internet Archive ( detailing the story, training, and drawings). Interesting for "Chardin" (1969) , catalog rational and comments by George Wilsonstein and Daniel Wilsonstein.

Available in a variety of formats and can be read and / or downloaded online.
In fact, a stable life was by no means Chardine's only right, and it is interesting to note that the way he placed his identity on it was often attributed to the creator or at least the artist. And the views of the people here in his day are instructive.

Chardyn created many forms or drawings that he considered to be very successful. Here you will find basic functions such as a pot, a kitchen table, a basket of prunes, coke or wine, watermelon, a rabbit and a toy bag, a nail hanging in the kitchen, and so on. Some furniture that is visible more than once may have been obtained from the same time as the closet, the mortar, the bowl, the pot.
