Plus Ça Change - Art on Mondays on BBC4

Caveat. This is a little gossip. ERE Lots of information about Art on Monday nights on BBC Four

Arts programming is growing and successful (or soon) on Sky Arts, Channel 4 and on Channel 5, we find the BBC, which only broadcasts archive programs on BBC4, which is traditionally the arts channel. :. (Mentioned below: "Monday Night Art on BBC Four")

I write about the planned death of BBC4 in March 2021 as creator of the show, as others have, see

It's even more urgent now that Nadine Doris (who I want to be very rude about, but I'll ignore) has a 'tooth on the BBC'. This is the woman who announces that this will be the last dues payment, who then announces that it will be a fight, and there is no decision. Even more lies and political shams??

The BBC's CEO and President have announced the proposed rules on license fees , including the "further reduction" code.

As a result, the latest news has received some major criticism - I wanted to add to that.

Art on BBC4 on Monday night

What we now get on BBC4 is what I call "Art Monday Night", which is basically a collection of REPEATS or REPEATS.

so last night

The title " Plus Change " of the first section of French art is, in some cases, very appropriate.

we had it last night

The link you should know about (if you haven't already) is the following
The main problem with the BBC website is that it doesn't have the resources to search for ART programmes, unlike Art, which is what the BBC stands for Arts, Culture and Media.

The main problem is not having to view the program in the archives again. if the show was good for the first time, it definitely deserves a different look .
BUT , accessibility and accessibility needs to be improved
  • They should ALWAYS be available through iPlayer (which we pay for).
  • they should be on the list so people know what's worth watching
  • and the BBC STILL HAS TO MAKE A NEW SHOW!!
The only bright spot on the horizon is that there seems to be a lot of lobbying from MPs in yesterday's debate, accepting that some aspects of the BBC should not be exposed; art is one of them.
