Call for Entries: Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2022
The annual Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Award is a truly international competition that recognizes the best of modern portrait photography. It attracts amateurs and professionals from all over the world - photographers.
The National Portrait Gallery in London announced the announcement for the 2022 competition earlier this month .
Presentations will be invited until May 31, 2022, at 5:00 pm , through a new digital platform specially developed for this year’s awards.
The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 15,000,000. In addition , the jury will award prizes to one or more selected photographers.

Who can join?
- By January 1, 2022, the photographer must be at least 18 years old.
What can you include?
- Each photographer can submit a maximum of six photos.
- Each photo must have a portrait
- Each image must be saved in JPG / JPEG format and no larger than 3 MB.
How much is the ticket worth?
- The cost of each shot is 20.00 per portrait (so NOT per photographer)
- If you pass the second round, all costs related to postal / courier services (including customs and import taxes) must be paid in advance with the photo.

- All debit / credit card details must be completed and the valid period must be at least two months from the date of entry .
How do I get in?
- Subscribe to a secure artist account on the new Gallery Gallery competition platform ( www.competitions.npg.org.uk )
- Photographers must upload their photos through the competition portal.
- Photographers must agree to respect the COMPLETELY COMPLETE competition, e.g.
Photographers or their agents guarantee all rights in the Works, including title, copyright, moral rights, human rights, title, trademark, design and the right to enter into contracts in accordance with these Rules. or the works of art shown in the photographs and no additional permits or conditions are required to secure such homes.
- All submissions and tickets must be paid for by 5pm on 31 May 2022 (UK time).
- Models for choosing an exhibition are mandatory
- The model release form indicates that the photo has full permission to access and reproduce the description of the person in the photo.
- If the selected photo is of a minor (under the age of 18), photographers must submit a small release form signed by the minor's parent or legal guardian.
- A TIFF file is required for the exhibition catalog and marketing
- Applications for the secondary examination must be submitted in person or by post / message at the reception between 20 and 24 June 2022.

The Gallery reserves the right, in its decision, to disqualify and remove entries that do not comply with the rules at any stage of the Competition.
How records are evaluated
The winners and the selection of the exhibition will be evaluated equally and anonymously.
- first round: the test panel examines the digital images
- second round: depending on the photos prepared by the photographer - in the second round selection.
Where is the exhibition?
For the second year in a row, the exhibition will run from 27 October to 18 December 2022 at the Cromwell Place Art Center in London and the National Portrait Gallery building in St Martin’s Square will be closed for major repairs until 2023. .
In 2021 the exhibition was held at Cromwell Square, where 54 portraits of 25 artists were shown.
